About the Southern Pinellas Cover

The South Pinellas cover represents three generations; Cameron N. Lusty, grandfather, Lily E. Lusty, daughter and mother, Blake C. Lusty, grandson. We thank Lily for sending in several pictures of her son with some of his accomplishments. We are honored to include this exceptional family in our Special Grandparents issue.
At 90 years old, Cameron N. Lusty has had a distinguish career. Cameron is an aeronautical engineer who worked extensively with NASA, Raytheon and several military contractors. In this time Cameron also developed the 1st WWII surveillance plane the L2 Grasshopper, which duties included spotting enemy troops and supply concentrations. Cameron is now a staff member at Eckerd College for ASPEC.

Blake Lusty is going to be entering the 11th grade at Admiral Farragut Academy. Blake is the Drill Company Commander and actively participates in NJROTC and numerous community service organizations. He enjoys running and sailing. Recently Blake was nominated to represent Florida in the National Youth Volunteer of the Year Award in Washington, D.C by Bay Pines VA Medical Center. Blake would like to attend the United States Naval Academy or Harvard University. Blake says, “Without the support and guidance of my grandfather and mother I would not be where I am today!”

Our cover picture was taken at Admiral Farragut Academy. We thank Commandant Robert M. Flanagan and Nancy Behan for our tour of the school. Please read about Admiral Farragut Academy on page 13.

About the North Pinellas Cover

On our North Pinellas cover is Emily Rodriguez, 8 years old and her grandmother Patricia M. Cloyed of St. Petersburg with Rascal. Emily lives with her parents Julie Cloyed and Richard Rodriguez on Clearwater Beach. Emily is homeschooled by her parents and her grandmother.

Our picture was taken in Sawgrass Lake Park in St. Petersburg on one of Emily’s walks each morning. Emily enjoys the Beach and spending time with her family. She has been taking karate at David Bybee’s Martial Arts Center in Pinellas Park where she recently earned her blue belt.

We thank Bruce from Northeast Photography for taking such a great picture.

About the North Hillsborough Cover

On our North Hillsborough cover are two sister Haley and Makenzie with their grandfathers, Anthony Muley of Tampa and Joseph Casaccia of Brandon. We thank mom, Trish Muley for sending in the picture below of the girls with their father and grandfather Anthony.

Haley is 12 and Makenzie is 8, both girls attend Trinity School for Children in Tampa. The girls both like to sing, dance and play sports. On the day of our photo shoot Haley was trying out for basketball for her team at trinity.

Both grandfathers are on call to help with the kids as needed. Joe is a pharmacist and Anthony is retired from Del Monte and is currently employed as a coordinator at Consolidated Mailing Services.

Our cover photo was taken at the girls’ school. We thank Bruce from Northeast Photography for taking such a great picture.

About the South Hillsborough Cover

On our South Hillsborough cover are three girls from Riverview. Their mom Devinder sent in the picture below with a lovely letter about how proud she is of her daughters. Devinder said, “I believe they should be considered not only because as their mom I think they are the most beautiful girls in the world but also they are wonderful children.” The oldest Keoni Alexandra is 11 and graduated from 5th grade with Honors and is attending middle school at Rodgers Middle School. Kristen Danielle is 9 and in the 4th grade she finished third grade with straight A’s. Keara Rose is 5 and is in First grade. Her dream is to be a model. Both girls attend Sessums Elementary School.

The picture below was sent in and includes the girls great-grandma Mima (Milagros Monroig) with them at her house in Puerto Rico. The girls’ grandparents could not be in our cover picture. The favorite thing the girls like to do is go shopping at the mall which they get to do often especially when their grandparents come to visit. We invited the girls to Brandon mall for some shoe shopping at JC Penney’s.

We thank Bruce from Northeast Photography for taking such a great picture.
