Young at Heart | Heart Health
Practices for Children - Heart disease is not just for
grandpa anymore. According to the National Institutes of Health
(NIH), heart disease can originate in childhood. In a recently
concluded study, the NIH discovered many of the conditions that
lead to heart disease, including high blood pressure and
hardening of the arteries, can begin as early as age five.

Gratitude More Than an Attitude -
Gratitude is more than an attitude. Recent studies show that
grateful people are happier, more resilient, and less depressed.
They also have higher self-esteem and better relationships.
These results prove that gratitude is more than polite manners
and positive thinking. It is a way of life, and a wonderful
legacy to leave our children.

Family-Image with Scrapbooking - We are all aware of what a
positive self-image can do for a person. It gives him the
confidence to achieve more. It picks him up when he is down. It
makes it possible for him to enjoy life to the fullest. The same
holds true for families. Like individuals, every family has its
ups and downs. Situations such as illness, separation, divorce,
and parent-child power struggles can dent a positive
family-image. One way to offset the effects of these situations
is to involve the family in a group project.

Not Spank Your Child - Parents wear many hats. Among
them are role model, doctor, and chauffeur. Often their most
difficult role is that of disciplinarian. Disciplining
children is complex. It requires patience and understanding.

Temper Temper, Dealing with Your

she learns at an extraordinary pace. She is literally learning
