 Summer
Fun begins… Mothers Day,
Graduations, School is Out, and Fathers Day.
Now is the time for summer vacations and summer camps.
In this
issue we have articles to help make the most of your summer. Our
Staycation Guide will tell you what special offers
are available to local residents. In our safety section it is all
about making sure your children are safe around the pool. Once we
received the article titled It’s Time to Start Making Some
Lemonade, we knew it was perfect for the current economic
climate.
We applaud
all of our local parents in Tampa Bay for your day in and day out,
unfailing love, dedication, and concern for your children. We know
that as a parents you sometime question whether your children
truly appreciate and understand everything that you do for them.
Just when you begin to doubt that they have any feelings, they
come along and reassure their thankfulness for having you as a
parent. This was evident in our most recent writing contest… “My
parents are the best because...” We received over 1000 entries
from children of all ages throughout the Tampa Bay that seemed to
be waiting for the opportunity to heap praise on their parents.
This validates the fact that the feelings and thoughts are there
and will present themselves when put in the right settings. Maybe
we should write about our family members more often and learn to
share those feelings with each other. It certainly ensures more
positive communication.
Families
on-the-go magazine had an
awesome opportunity to sponsor the kids zone at the Juvenile
Diabetes “Walk for a Cure” and March of Dimes “Walk for
Babies” in Hillsborough and Pinellas. We had lots of fun and give
away great gifts for your children in our Family Zone. We have not
heard the final numbers but in this down economy both were up over
the previous year. Thank you for participating and we will look
forward to next year!
